The History of Ziegler Tools

Ziegler Tools, Luckie Street

Ziegler Tools started as a one-man operation in 1948.  It began with William R. Ziegler selling Cornwell automotive tools out of the trunk of his car to repair shop owners and full service gas stations.  With focus, determination, integrity, hard work and a great sense for business, Mr. Ziegler made his company thrive.

Ford Motor was the company's first major account and was serviced by Mr. Ziegler.  Later, his brother Frank joined the company and developed other customers such as Delta Airlines, General Motors and Lockheed Aircraft.  By 1959, the company represented many industrial manufacturers in addition to Cornwell. Thus, W.R. Ziegler appropriately changed the name to Ziegler Tools, Inc.

In 1976, the corporate office moved from a little building on Luckie Street to a new facility on Marietta Street across from The Georgia Institute of Technology campus.  In June of 2001, Ziegler Tools expanded again and moved its corporate office to its current location on Fulton Industrial Boulevard.
